I'm Simone Favarin, a Product Designer & Technologist working across AI, intelligent systems and security. I design products where the interface is only one layer of a much larger system: models, data, infrastructure, constraints, automation and people all have to work together. My role is to make those systems understandable, operable and useful.
My focus is the intersection of AI, product systems and security. I'm interested in AI as part of a product architecture — not simply as a feature: how intelligent systems behave, how people supervise them, how evidence and uncertainty are represented, and how complex technical decisions become actionable.
I'm Co-founder & CTO of Shorium, focused on cryptographic continuity: helping organizations understand, govern and evolve cryptographic dependencies as standards, threats and systems change. It matters most in long-lived and distributed systems, where crypto-agility, provenance and the ability to change safely count more than choosing a single algorithm once.
I'm autistic, and that perspective is part of my professional practice. I work through patterns, systems and relationships between apparently separate pieces of information — making hidden structures visible and reducing complex problems to models that can be reasoned about. Design is not decoration around technology: it is a way of understanding a system well enough to decide how it should behave.
I work from system behaviour outward. Interfaces, workflows and visual language matter, but they are consequences of deeper decisions: what the system knows, what it can do, what it cannot know, what the user controls, what must be explained and what happens when something fails. That is where product design meets technology.
